rules and traditions
what is clear is that nothing is actually clear!
only one thing is known in kaZantip republic. that is that very little is actually specified in advance. just the dates of the opening and closing ceremonies are announced in advance! however, these dates are only fixed a couple of months before the ceremonies take place. the date for the new year’s eve celebrations is also clear. that’s it!
the dates for the other numerous important occasions are not fixed long in advance but are announced by the “government” or the preZident of kaZantip republic and publicised on the notice board in the kaZantip republic complex at short notice (sometimes just a few hours before!). however, it goes without saying that we keep our guests up to date with the latest information at all times after their arrival. so you know what is happening, where and when. you might find this takes some getting used to at the outset. however, what experienced paradiZers love most are the constant unexpected surprises here.
there is no DJ line-up here, so it is never known when which DJ will play in which open-air club. both the DJs and the guests find out just a couple hours or even a couple of minutes before the event. in kaZantip republic it is usual for DJs to remain at the turntables if the music is great. however, if the music played is not going down well with the pardiZers, the DJ is substituted early, irrespective of whether or not he is the no. 1 superstar under the DJs. DJs regard it as an honour to play at kaZantip republic and it is tradition that they do this with great passion and enthusiasm. as a result, you get to know talented new DJs you would never have come across had the line-up been fixed. in any case, you spend several days at our complex and don’t just come to see one particular DJ. therefore, the DJ line-up is not so important. nevertheless, we will, of course, keep you up to date with the latest news once you are here.
the abbreviation „Z“
everything in this world that is really “cool” is abbreviated. as a result, we decided to come up with an abbreviation for kaZantip republic. the capital “Z” in the “kaZantip“ logotype was considered worthy enough to the carry the burden of abbreviation. so as all initiated paradiZers know, capital Z equals kaZantip republic.
„schastie“
you will come across this word repeatedly in kaZantip republic. the word schastie means “happiness” and is anchored in the republic’s charter. its unconventional grammatical and orthographic form means that it won’t be found in any dictionary. however, its meaning is fixed and readily comprehensible. it reflects the whole kaZantip republic philosophy and each guest lives it, communicates it in some way and most importantly passes on from the heart. this can be seen most readily at the daily sunset celebration.
the yellow case
free admission to kaZantip republic is granted to those guests who register on kaZantipa.net (in Russian only) and answer a few quiz questions before the start of summer. they then travel to kaZantip republic with a yellow case which they agree to carry around with them for the whole of their stay. the origin of this tradition can be found in an old Russian fairy tale in which a man made children happy by giving them sweets from a yellow case. the philosophy behind this is – if you make people happy in kaZantip republic, you too will experience happiness…
weddings
official weddings take place in kaZantip republic once a week. The fact that the marriage is only recognised in the kaZantip republic doesn’t bother the happy couples. the ceremony takes place on the beach during the day and attracts a huge crowd of spectators who want to share in the happiness of the occasion. the marriage ceremony is performed simultaneously for all the couples. anyone can get married, as often as they want, to whomever they want whether male or female. registration is not required. you just need to turn up on day x and be willing to lead your partner down the path to happiness. the marriage is valid for however long love lasts. and not one day more.
the brides all appear at the ceremony in beautiful, very eye-catching, mostly self-made bridal gowns with, of course, veils or other stunning and original headdresses. it goes without saying that the men at least make some effort to keep up with the brides. but then again who can compete with the god-given beauty of Russian women.
the visa multipass
the admission ticket to the kaZantip republic grounds is officially called a visa. as kaZantip republic is an independent virtual republic with borders and laws, at least during the 5 to 6 weeks it runs, order needs to be maintained. this means that everyone has to apply for a visa by taking a passport and photo to the official visa office at the front of the kaZantip republic site. you pay for it in cash just as in former Soviet times. once you are in possession of a multiday visa (a type of multipass) you are entitled to cross the borders of kaZantip republic. it is still difficult for many visitors to kaZantip republic to get a visa to travel to other countries. as a result, obtaining a visa before entering kaZantip republic is particularly symbolic – a little piece of freedom at the admissions gate. people are even prepared to wait in long queues to attain this freedom. travellers from the EU are privileged, as they do not require a visa for travel to the Ukraine and Popovka where kaZantip republic is located.
freak parade
the freak parade takes place once every summer. this parade is comparable with the street and love parade in Europe but is on a much smaller scale. all guests who dress in a funny, crazy and flamboyant way can take part in this extraordinary parade through kaZantip republic and the town of Popovka. an incredible experience for both participants and spectators.
new year’s eve
as time proceeds at a different pace in kaZantip republic and “schastie”, i.e. happiness, is the most important thing in kaZantip republic, new year’s eve is celebrated each year on july 31st. as is customary on new year’s eve everyone gets dressed up. ten seconds before midnight the countdown starts. then the champagne flows and the new kaZantip republic year is welcomed in in style…
opening and closing ceremony
a truly incredible and unforgettable experience!
the various open-air clubs are quiet on these dates. all activity is now concentrated on the huge main floor. here only the best and most celebrated DJs in the world play for over 60’000 dancing and partying paradiZers. a huge fireworks display with musical accompaniment is the absolute highlight. and most importantly, this is not some display taking place in a far off place, as is usually the case, but takes place here directly above the heads of the paradiZers.
a truly thrilling experience which leaves no guest unmoved.
the correct name of the republic is kaZantip and not kasantip, or kazantyp nor kasantyp. so watch it.
